Checkpoint’s Capsule Connect is the District provided mobile VPN app. This is typically used on iPads in conjunction with Microsoft RD app for remoting into a district desktop.

District issued devices

  1. Locate the ‘App Catalog’ or ‘Company Portal’ app.
  2. Search for ‘Capsule Connect’.
  3. Press the ‘Get’ button to initiate the app install and say ‘OK’ to any prompts.
  4. Go to the main screen and locate the installed Capsule Connect app and proceed to the configuration steps below.


Personal Apple devices

  1. Locate the Apple ‘App Store’.
  2. Search for ‘Capsule Connect’.
  3. Press the ‘Get’ button to initiate the app install. You will need to enter your personal Apple ID to install.
  4. Go to the main screen and locate the installed Capsule Connect app and proceed to the configuration steps below.


Configure Capsule Connect


  1. Launch the Capsule Connect App on iPad.
  2. Under 'New Connection,' select 'Manual Connection.'
  3. Name is optional. For example, LVVWD VPN
  4. Server Field is required:
    1. Type styx.lvvwd.com
    2. Click 'Create' button.
  5. If 'Do you Trust this server?' message appears, click 'Trust.'
  6. Choose authentication method and select 'Username and Password.'
  7. Newly created VPN site should now be listed under 'Device-wide VPN' header.
