A remote desktop connection allows you to connect to the PC at your desk from different locations. 


You will need the fully distinguished machine name (pcXXXXXXX.ntlan.lvvwd.com) of your work PC before attempting to connect remotely. You also must be onsite or connected to the corporate network via VPN to establish a remote connection to your work PC. 


NOTE: To find the PC name open the PC’s Control Panel and click System and Security > System.


1. Create a shortcut to Remote Desktop Connection

  1. a. On Windows 10, click the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your screen. 
  2. b. Type in Remote Desktop Connection. 
  3. c. Right click on the search result and select either Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar. 

2. Double-click on the Remote Desktop Connection shortcut. 

3. Enter the fully distinguished machine name of the PC you want to connect to  

4. Click Connect. 

5. Login with NTLAN user name and password.  


Generic PC connection  


If you are unable to connect to your PC, you can create a generic connection to access email and network drives.  


1. Open Remote Desktop Connection   

2. Use remote.lvvwd.com for the computer name (not your personal PC).  

3. Login with NTLAN user name and password.
